Turkey Trot
The Annual Hopkinsville Turkey Trot is a FREE 5K race that begins and finishes in Downtown Hopkinsville.
The race begins at 8:00 AM on Thanksgiving Day each year. Registration is not required, but race participants are encouraged to register online.
Souvenir race shirts are available for purchase for $25. The deadline to guarantee your preferred size race shirts is November 15th.
This long-standing annual Hopkinsville Parks and Recreation event is a family tradition for many community members. Grab your family and friends and enjoy a Thanksgiving morning full of movement in Downtown Hopkinsville!
The Route
The Hopkinsville Turkey Trot is a non-competitive, non-timed race that begins on Main Street and ends on the Greenway Rail Trail. The event has grown to almost 1,200 participants each year since 2002.

The Shirts
Each year, a commemorative shirt is available to collect and wear during the event. Extra shirts are available for purchase the Monday after the event at the Thomas Street Recreation Center.
The Costume Contest
Dressing up in matching shirts or turkey themed outfits and costumes is one of the elements participants look forward to. To honor this tradition, we host a costume contest before the race with the winner selected by audience applause.
